Instead of standing on prongs, the stone sits low inside a curved wraparound bezel: the band rises from one side, circles the cushion like a ribbon, and leaves the other side to flow away in the opposite direction. The open edges let light into the stone from the sides, while the metal protects its corners from knocks.
