An ornate budded cross with a twist – literally. A yellow gold scroll curls around the centre of this white gold pavé cross, set with 228 moissanites for 1.47ct DEW. Pendant only – chain not included. Each arm ends in a cluster of rounded, petal-like buds and a pointed tip, a detail borrowed from traditional ornamental crosses. The S-shaped scroll that wraps the crossing point is plated separately in 18K yellow gold and paved with its own line of stones, so the two metal colours sit side by side on one piece. A wide, two-row pavé bail on a hinged link keeps the cross hanging flat. The stones – 49 × 0.8mm, 133 × 1.0mm, 25 × 1.2mm, 6 × 1.5mm and 15 × 1.7mm – are D colour with VVS clarity, set in 925 sterling silver plated in 18K white gold (rhodium finish) with the yellow gold scroll accent. Moissanite has a refractive index of 2.65 versus a diamond's 2.42, so it returns more fire under light, and at 9.25 on the Mohs scale it is hard enough to shrug off daily wear.
